Alex's experience is mainly from a dance background and she is highly qualified within several disciplines of the fitness industry. She has many years experience teaching these to classes, small groups and to individuals.
Pilates
There is a lot of confusion regarding the term "Pilates Instructor" as different training providers have their own version of this qualification.
Alex gained her qualification with Modern Pilates www.modernpilates.co.uk which is graded at Level 3 with REPS, The Register of Exercise Professionals www.reps.co.uk . In addition, she has trained and worked alongside instructors from other organisations such as Body Control, Stott, Pilates Institute and Pilates Foundation. Alex finds that taking "the best" from each provider has given her a wealth of experience which has greatly increased not only her knowledge but emphasised and enhanced her teaching and presentation skills.
Yoga
There is also confusion with the term "Yoga Instructor" as yoga takes many forms and each has its own merits.
Although her initial instructor training was with the Iyengar Institute, where alignment and precision are paramount, Alex favours the flow of the Ashtanga approach. Again, taking the best of each discipline, she develops powerful sequences where traditional poses are fused together to form a very dynamic workout for the whole body.
Dancercise, Dance Step & Body Conditioning
Alex has the RSA Exercise to Music Instructor. These three classes are where choreographed routines or exercises are performed in time to upbeat music. A fantastic and fun way to work out.
Synergy
Pilates + Yoga + Energy = Synergy. Alex has devised this workout which combines the best of both disciplines which are linked together in sequences which link beautifully together. This is a dynamic and powerful class which aims to strengthen, streamline and stretch muscles for a complete body workout.
