Alex's experience is mainly from a dance background and she is highly qualified within several disciplines of the fitness industry.  She has many years experience teaching these to classes, small groups and to individuals.

Strictly Dance Aerobics

A fun, high energy low impact dance aerobics class where you do exactly what it says on the tin  ie. “dance”.  You will start with a basic aerobic routine which, stage by stage, turns into something a little more complex to challenge the mind as well as the body!  Co-ordination is definitely an advantage as you mambo and cha cha your way through this highly choreographed class.  You will not notice you are working out as you sing your heart out to classic pop and party tracks, that could be disco, 80s new wave, dance anthems – anything goes!  Strictly not just your average aerobic class!

It is essential that you :

Enjoy a challenge!

Bring a water bottle and sweat towel – you will need it!

Wear non restrictive clothing and good supportive footwear.

Power Yoga

Initially trained with the Iyengar Institute, Alex combines their precise and strong technique within the fun, fast and powerful approach of the Ashtanga style when teaching her Power Yoga class.  Traditional yoga postures are fused together to form dynamic sequences which link seamlessly together in this very powerful class.  Strengthen, streamline and stretch the entire body in this complete conditioning workout which will greatly improve your posture, balance and flexibility.

 It is essential that you :

Bring an open mind – not all yoga classes are the same ...

Bring your own mat (long “sticky” yoga mats are ideal and inexpensive)

Bring a bottle of water and a sweat towel – you will need it!

Pilates

Pilates exercises are designed for anybody regardless of age, ability, shape or size.   Increase your strength, tone up and gain flexibility whilst improving your posture and balance in this multi-level class that will encourage you to stand and walk tall in everyday life.  Correct alignment and technique are key in this slow, controlled conditioning class where modifications can be made to address any muscular imbalance or injury.  You will be encourage to work to your own ability as you work through basic, intermediate and advanced versions of exercises based on the original works of Joseph Pilates.

It is essential that you :
